Indiana Fever superstar Caitlin Clark was one vote shy of being the unanimous Rookie of the Year winner for the 2024 season. This was after one voter decided to cast their ballot for Chicago Sky forward Angel Reese, who happens to be Clark’s biggest rival.

Be that as it may, there’s no denying that this was an incredible achievement for Clark, who finished her debut campaign with averages of 19.2 points on 41.7 percent shooting, 5.7 rebounds, a league-best 8.4 assists and 1.3 steals, while also knocking down 3.1 triples per game on a 34.4 percent clip.

More importantly, Clark led the Fever to their first playoff berth in eight years. Indiana finished the campaign with a 20-20 record, which allowed them to secure the sixth spot in the playoffs. Clark and Co., however, suffered a first-round defeat after going down 2-0 against the Connecticut Sun.

One man who has been standing behind Clark through all this is her boyfriend, Connor McCaffery. On Thursday, the former Iowa basketball star turned Butler University assistant coach took to Instagram to share his reaction to Clark’s major achievement.

McCaffery kept it subtle. He did not need any words to express how proud he is of Clark. All he did was repost the WNBA’s Rookie of the Year announcement.

After all, there are times when less is more, and on this particular occasion, Clark’s achievement truly says it all.

According to reports, the couple started dating in April 2023. It was in August of that same year that they first went public with their relationship via a post on Instagram. It has now been a year and a half that Clark and McCaffery have been together and it seems that they’re going as strong as ever.
