Caitlin Clark sent direct 11-word message days after Lexie Hull agreement
Caitlin Clark is reportedly weighing up a lucrative offer to join Indiana Fever colleague Lexie Hull in expanding Unrivaled series which tips off early next year
The door has been left wide open for Caitlin Clark to join the expanded Unrivaled series.
The new three-on-three women’s basketball league, co-founded by WNBA stars Napheesa Collier and Breanna Stewart, tips off in Miami in January and already boasts an impressive roster of players, including Clark’s Indiana Fever colleague Lexie Hull.
She has joined the likes of Collier, Stewart, Angel Reese, Kelsey Plum, Chelsea Gray, Arike Ogunbowale, Jewell Loyd, Kate Martin and Brittney Griner in signing up. Originally slated for 30 players, it was announced on Thursday that it had expanded to 36 after “surpassing its initial revenue goals”, according to president Alex Bazzell.
Revenue and interest would almost certainly swell further if organizers can lure Clark, whose rookie WNBA season after being drafted by the Fever coincided with a huge growth in viewing figures on ESPN.
While it is unclear whether the 22-year-old will sign up, a place has been left open for her. In an 11-word message, Bazzell declared: “We’re always going to have a roster spot for Caitlin Clark.”
Via Sportico, Bazzell added: “We’re not applying a full-court press the way people think. We are letting her decompress from basketball.

Clark has a few more weeks to make up her mind, with the final 36-player lineup due to be confirmed on November 20. She has reportedly received a huge offer which includes $1million (£770,000), plus equity and revenue sharing.
That far outweighs her base salary during her rookie season with Indiana, where she earned $76,535 (£58,950). The bulk of her income comes from endorsements with blue chip companies like Swoosh, State Farm, Gatorade, Wilson, Bose and Buick.
