Ivan Toney could leave Brentford this summer.
Ivan Toney is reportedly holding out for one Premier League club to sign him after contract talks with Brentford came to nothing.
Toney has been Brentford’s key player since the Bees made their Premier League in 2021-22, with his goals one of the main reasons why they have managed to establish themselves as a top flight club.
Toney has scored 72 goals in 141 appearances for Brentford since joining the London club in a £10 million deal in 2020, with 36 of those strikes coming across three seasons in the Premier League.
Toney missed much of last season after he was hit with an eight-month ban for breaching FA betting rules, but he returned to action in January and helped Brentford avoid relegation.
Toney’s Brentford contract is set to expire next summer, and negotiations between club and player have so far proven fruitless.
According to talkSPORT, Toney is hoping that Tottenham Hotspur come forward with an offer for Brentford this summer, as North London is his preferred next destination
A few other Premier League clubs and several Saudi Arabian sides could be potential landing spots for Toney this summer, but if a move doesn’t materialise then the 28-year-old is set to become a free agent in 2025.

While Toney only scored four league goals after returning from his lengthy suspension, the striker’s stock has risen following some impressive cameo appearances for England at Euro 2024.
The striker made an impact from the bench during England’s round-of-16 clash with Slovakia, assisting Harry Kane to score an extra-time winner in a 2-1 victory.
He again came off the bench during the quarter-final meeting with Switzerland, this time dispatching a cool no-look penalty as Gareth Southgate’s side won a European Championship shootout for just the second time.
