Man Utd supporters spot MAJOR transfer hint on club website as midfielder search continues

Man Utd are hoping to sign a new midfielder.

Manchester United fans have spotted a major transfer hint on the club’s website as the search for a new midfielder continues.

United are looking to strengthen Erik ten Hag’s squad after only managing an eighth-place finish in the Premier League.

Leny Yoro and Joshua Zirkzee have been brought in to bolster the defence and attack respectively, but reinforcements are still needed in midfield.

It’s an area of the team United looked weak in last season, with only the emergence of Kobbie Mainoo providing a silver lining.

United have been linked with Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Manuel Ugarte all summer, but their interest in the Uruguayan looks to have cooled.

United are reportedly sticking to their new transfer strategy under Sir Jim Ratcliffe, meaning they won’t offer above their valuation of a player. It’s thought they are unwilling to meet PSG’s £51 million asking price for Ugarte.

Other options are being sounded out instead, including Burnley’s Sander Berge, Monaco’s Youssouf Fofana and Real Sociedad and Spain star Martin Zubimendi.

Sofyan Amrabat is also under consideration, and United fans have spotted a clue that suggests he could be the man United sign.

Amrabat spent last season on loan at Old Trafford, but he struggled for form and game time as he started just 15 of the 30 games he featured in.

United paid Fiorentina £8.5m for the season-long loan, but have not yet decided whether or not to activate the £21.4m purchase option.

But United fans have noticed that Amrabat is still featured on the ‘squad’ page on United’s official website, with a photo of the Morocco international wearing United’s new home kit.

Though Amrabat underwhelmed for much of last season, he showed his potential with a superb performance in the FA Cup final win against Manchester City.

According to Fiorentina sporting director Daniele Prade, Amrabat wants to stay in the Premier League.

“I would keep him in Florence but it doesn’t seem like what he has in mind,” he said back in June.

“I think he wants to stay in the Premier League but we haven’t heard from anyone yet since.”
