The top 10 highest-paid stars in the Premier League have been revealed, and fans can’t believe some of the players included.
It’s no secret that Premier League players are among the best-paid footballers on the planet, even if the Saudi Pro League has tempted some stars with astonishingly large pay packets.
The top three highest earners in world football – Cristiano Ronaldo, Neymar and Karim Benzema – all play in Saudi Arabia.
According to Capology, Ronaldo earns a yearly base salary of around £168 million, while Neymar and Benzema both take home around £84m.
But who are the best-paid Premier League stars? The top 10 have been revealed and fans are stunned.
It will come as no surprise that Manchester City stars dominate the top 10, taking into account base salaries without bonuses.
According to Capology, Kevin De Bruyne earns a yearly base salary of £20.8m, making him the best paid player in the English top flight.
The midfielder’s teammate Erling Haaland is second in the rankings, earning a whopping £19.5m a year. The fact that City only paid a modest £51m transfer fee for the striker in 2022 meant that they could afford to offer him large wages.
Liverpool star Mohamed Salah – who is entering the final year of his contract – earns £18.2m, as does Manchester United midfielder Casemiro.

Chelsea’s Raheem Sterling is paid £16.9m per season, the same as Romelu Lukaku, who hasn’t played for the club since 2022 due to spending time on loan at Inter Milan and AS Roma.
It was reported that Lukaku didn’t earn his normal wage while playing for Roma last season.
Man City stars Jack Grealish and Bernardo Silva both reportedly earn a base salary of £15.6m a year, while cross-town rival Marcus Rashford is paid £15.6m by Man United.
Rounding off the top 10 is Kai Havertz, who was given a £14.56m per year contract when he swapped Chelsea for Arsenal last summer.
It’s fair to say that plenty of fans couldn’t believe some of the names on the list.
“Havertz is Arsenal’s top paid player?! Im genuinely shocked by that, I never knew,” one fan wrote on X.
Others commented, “Sterling and Lukaku stealing a living,” and “Only KDB, Haaland, Salah and Silva worth it. Others just stealing living.”
