Travis Kelce’s life is fairly busy—the NFL player is in the swing of football season with the Kansas City Chiefs, and on his days off he’s often spotted out on the town with his girlfriend, pop superstar Taylor Swift.

Still, the Super Bowl winner found some time earlier this year to give acting a go, starring in the Ryan Murphy vehicle Grotesquerie.

His colleagues have had nothing but glowing things to say about his acting performance and work ethic, and last month, Murphy darling Niecy Nash-Betts called him a “dream” to work with due to his openness to learn on the job.

Now, the Reno 911! star is speaking frankly about her chemistry with the football player, telling Us Weekly that she felt that building rapport with Kelce was the easy part. “I was born to flirt,” she said, noting that she “just wanted to make sure he felt covered. I wanted to make sure we had time to rehearse.”

Nash-Betts continued, sharing that “the blessing about this particular show for an actor is that most of the characters play a duality. Travis went from being a charming person who worked at the hospital to being down and out on his luck guy who has a mullet.”

Said mullet was presented to fans by Nash-Betts on social media earlier this week, when she shared a video of Kelce in costume for the show.

Fans were quick to point out that the hairdo “looks like a bad perm from the 80’s 😂,” with another commenting that the switch “was a jump scare 😳🙃😂.”

A third then chimed in, stating bluntly “If you can’t take him with his [m]ullet, you don’t deserve him at his Super Bowl 🤣.”
