Dave Portnoy says NBA players would be ‘crucified’ for acting like Angel Reese after playoff failure

Dave Portnoy believes an NBA rookie wouldn’t be able to get away with the behavior of Angel Reese in their first season after being drafted.

Portnoy launched into an astonishing attack on the Chicago Sky rookie during an appearance on the Barstool Sports ‘Pick Em’ podcast, where he was asked about Reese attending the WNBA Finals in a 50-50 jersey of New York Liberty and Minnesota Lynx.

Barstool Sports founder Portnoy said he didn’t watch the finals because Caitlin Clark wasn’t competing for Indiana Fever, before slamming Reese for launching her ‘Unapologetically Angel’ podcast on the back of a season where she failed to make the playoffs.

Reese has spoken about the rivalry she shared with Clark on her show, as well as having Travis Kelce‘s ex-girlfriend Kayla Nicole on as a guest to talk about the Chiefs star.

‘The last time I saw Angel she had (Travis) Kelce’s ex (on her podcast),’ Portnoy said.

If a male was doing what Angel Reese is doing she would get crucified, regardless of skin color, regardless of anything.

‘She’s a rookie in the league whose team sucked, who a**ed out at the end of the season with an injury, who won’t shut up about herself, who ran their best player out of town, the coach got fired, and she started a podcast five seconds into the thing creating all this controversy.

‘Imagine if your first round Draft pick had the season she had, the controversy she had, got injured in a questionable injury, a**ed out and then started a podcast gossiping about everything in the league as a rookie. Please.

‘Meanwhile Caitlin is head down, just f***ing in the gym, you don’t hear a peep from her.’

Reese’s season ended early due to a wrist issue that needed surgery, meaning she missed the final few games of the regular season.

She is expected to return in January for the launch of the new Unrivaled league, with an array of WNBA stars signed up to the 3×3 tournament.

It was reported earlier this week that Unrivaled is planning an offer for Clark to join the franchise, replicating the lucrative deal Major League Soccer made with Lionel Messi to sign for Inter Miami.

Clark could be offered more than $1million as well as equity in the league, which has been co-founded by WNBA stars Breanna Stewart and Napheesa Collier.

Messi signed a $150million deal with Miami that included contributions from Apple and Adidas, as well as future opportunities for team ownership in the league.
