Jason Kelce, the recently retired Philadelphia Eagles legend, has found himself in the spotlight once again—this time, for something off the field.

The seven-time Pro Bowler, six-time first-team All-Pro, and a key figure in the Eagles’ Super Bowl LII 41-33 victory over the New England Patriots, is widely recognized as one of the best centers in NFL history. After an impressive 13-year career with the Eagles, which included another Super Bowl appearance against his brother Travis Kelce in 2023, Kelce stepped away from the game with his legacy firmly established.

But while his football career speaks for itself, it was his appearance at a Taylor Swift concert in Miami that recently made headlines.

A viral photo, snapped by his former teammate Beau Allen, appeared to show Kelce dozing off during the high-energy performance of Swift’s Eras Tour. The picture quickly spread across social media, leading to playful jabs about Kelce’s ability to sleep anywhere.

Kelce, however, owned up to the situation, insisting he wasn’t actually asleep.

On his “New Heights” podcast, he explained that it was nothing but “friendly fire” from Beau Allen, who captured the awkward moment.

“All of a sudden, friendly fire,” Kelce joked about the incident.

Kelce further clarified that he was simply “feeling the music” during one of Swift’s songs, closing his eyes and tapping his thigh in the moment. He was adamant that he wasn’t napping, urging fans to look closer at the viral image for proof.

“My hand is hovering,” said Kelce. “You can’t sleep with your hand hovering over your knee.”

Despite the playful teasing, Kelce handled the situation with good humor, fully owning up to the misunderstanding.

The viral photo only added to his charm as a beloved figure both on and off the field. While he may have hung up his cleats, it’s clear that Jason Kelce remains in the public eye, and the Swift concert mishap gave fans and friends alike something to smile about.
