Leny Yoro suffered a foot injury in only his second game for Manchester United.
A shock detail about Leny Yoro’s Manchester United medical has emerged in wake of his crushing injury blow.
Man United fended off competition from Real Madrid to sign Yoro this summer, acquiring his services for £58.9 million.
He made an instant impression in his debut for the club as he starred against Rangers in a pre-season game.
But the 18-year-old suffered a foot injury against Arsenal in the United States, which will keep him out of action for around three months.
Yoro’s injury, however, wouldn’t have come as a major surprise to Man United as medical scans showed a possible metatarsal issues when he joined the club.
That’s according to a new report from The Athletic, who claim executives pressed ahead with the signing anyway as they are convinced the Frenchman will be a top player for the Red Devils for the ‘next decade’ and saw a ‘rare opportunity’ to snap up one of Europe’s highly-regarded young players.

Man United handled Yoro carefully and he trained in only 50 per cent of their sessions, but he sustained an injury in his second game for the club.
The centre-back stayed with the squad until the trip was over and had surgery once he returned to England.
He won’t be rushed as Man United had not expected him to play every week in the Premier league to start with anyway.

Yoro’s mentality impressed Ten Hag, who praised the way the player dealt with his setback.
“He expresses one of the reasons why we signed him,” he explained. “Very mature, great personality, dealing with it, looking forward, be positive. He’s already started his rehab.”
He added: “A fire is burning there. As I say, for his age, he is already very mature and very balanced. You don’t get him distracted. He knows what he wants he knows where he wants to go and I’m sure he will be returning as soon as possible to support the team and he will help the team winning games and winning trophies.
“You need heart and you need head. In football both are very important.
“We need both things right to form a team. In the team you need different skillset, but personality, character, mentality are very important to construct a winning team.”
