New York Liberty guard Sabrina Ionescu performed well off in the WNBA Finals.

The New York Liberty took a 2-1 lead over the Minnesota Lynx in the WNBA Finals on Wednesday night. Securing an 80-77 victory, New York was led by All-Star forward Breanna Stewart, who finished with 30 points and 11 rebounds in the win.

Stewart is a two-time WNBA champion. Winning Finals MVP with the Seattle Storm in 2018 and 2020, the six-time All-WNBA First Team has proven her ability to perform on this stage.

Liberty guard Sabrina Ionescu also had a strong showing on Wednesday, recording 13 points, five rebounds and six assists, along with the biggest shot of the game.

NBA star Kevin Durant posted his reaction to this incredible shot, sending a three-word message to Ionescu on X.

“Cold blooded killer,” Durant wrote, tagging the Liberty star.

Durant is a two-time Finals MVP himself, winning back-to-back titles with the Golden State Warriors in 2017 and 2018. Spending time with the Brooklyn Nets prior to joining the Phoenix Suns, Durant has often shown support for the Liberty.

Ionescu is playing in her second WNBA Finals. New York fell to the Las Vegas Aces in last year’s championship round, but the Liberty are now one win away from their first title in franchise history.

Ionescu was an All-Star for the third straight season, posting averages of 18.2 points, 4.4 rebounds and 6.2 assists in her fifth WNBA campaign.

Already well-accomplished at just 26 years old, Ionescu could add a championship to her resume when the Liberty play Game 4 on Friday in Minnesota.
